History

• Lesotho Save The Children (LSC) first began in 1961 as a project of Save the Children Fund (UK) Now known as Save the Children (UK).

• The name was officially changed and the organisation registered under The Societies Act in 1979.

• Throughout its 43 year history. LSC worked to protect and support the country's most vulnerable children.  As government services and social issues have changed, so has LSC's work.

• LSC's current work focuses on child protection, hospice care, quality education and community based HIV/AIDS support.

• LSC works within the guidelines of the United Nations' Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Save The Children Charter.

• Currently LSC has three programmes namely Maseru Children'sVillage, Bursaries programme and Tholoan'a Lerato.
