Children's Rights

The United Nations’ Convention on the Rights of the Child (1989) is a universally agreed set of non-negotiable standards and obligations. The Government of Lesotho ratified the UNCRC in 1992. It states that all children:

 -          Have the right to survival and development;

 -          Have the right to be consulted, to be heard, to express themselves;

 -          Have the right to special protection;

 -          Have the right to be healthy and to health care;

 -          Have the right to an adequate standard of living;

 -          Have the right to education;

 -          Have the right to play.

 Lesotho Save the Children is working to uphold these rights for children of Lesotho.
