Involves local communities in the selection of children.
Coordinates community support and training for home-based care for HIV/AIDS.
Provides support to village-based initiatives to care for child-headed households.
Latest update:
The number of children within the bursaries programme is going down as we are no longer taking on new applicants. This is because 2005 is the last year of the Bursaries operation.
All support groups are doing well and are keen to go out on their own, they don't want to rely on the donations for the rest of their lives, they want to be able to do things on their own.
We currently have one PLWA support group in Moremoholo Valley, we are planning to establish another three support groups for people living with HIV/AIDS.
We have bought 5 sewing machines for the Qabane project and will buy 15 more sewing machines for Motsekuoa, Moremoholo and Senqu.
We will also be helping to build a cement water tank for one of the projects.
There will be training workshops held on the following topics: Food Production, HIV/AIDS, VTC (voluntary testing and counseling), Hygiene, Home Based Care, Care of Orphans, Substance Abuse and Promiscuity.
